In this exciting and visually stimulating programme, students will meet and learn from four leading internationally recognised artists working in different areas. From ceramics, graphic design or digital art to photography or concept art, this day will provide variety, innovation and the chance to hear how ideas become art. The day will be chaired by award-winning designer and artist Pascal Anson.

Fire up your creativity Grayson Perry CBE RA, Artist
Grayson Perry will talk about his work and consider how to be creative in an age which embraces both traditional and digital approaches to art.
About Grayson Perry CBE RA
Turner Prize-winner Grayson Perry’s work is original and provocative. He uses traditional forms such as ceramics and tapestries in unconventional ways to comment on society, including issues related to injustice, hypocrisy, creativity, sexuality, identity and class.
Magnum photographer Martin Parr, Photographer
Martin will talk about his approach as a photographer and students will be able to see for themselves how he uses seduction and humour to comment on the human condition.

Graphic design: everyone and everywhere Rebecca Wright, Graphic Designer
Graphic design is all around us. It educates, informs, entertains and persuades, influencing how we experience and understand the world around us, yet it is easily overlooked. This talk will reveal the role of graphic design, and explore why you are part of it.

Diary of a mobile digital artist Roz Hall, Digital artist
This interactive talk will explore iPad and digital art, a medium famously embraced by David Hockney and espoused by an increasing number of established artists. Roz Hall will demonstrate the techniques required to create a successful painting on a tablet or mobile device.
